Beef Burgundy - $13
A version of the classic French dish. Very tender beef in a flavorful broth. Bits of bacon are included. Classically the beef is braised in red wine and beef broth. I couldn't decided if there was wine in this broth. That's actually a good thing, it should be cooked long enough that it losses its "wineiness". Instead of potatoes cooked with the beef, its served with potatoes gratin, thin sliced potatoes stacked and cooked till browned on the top with cheese. Just a great version of a classic dish. Synopsis: This is going to be killer when the weather gets cool.
Mushroom Risotto - $10 (Half order $5)
I have to say, I'm a risotto fan. I didn't find any exotic or high end ingredients in this version, but the quality of this preparation makes it. And they make it to order! I asked for a half portion, and if what I got is a true half the full would be a very hearty meal indeed. Good ole button mushroom, Arborio rice or one of its close cousins is cooked till creamy with what must be mushroom stock because the white mushrooms can't bring this much flavor to the dish. Prettied up with some parsley. Synopsis: I could eat this all day.
